Tournament Week 2026: Table Tennis

Macleans College’s table tennis teams returned from the New Zealand Secondary Schools Table Tennis National Competition with impressive results, including a national title for the girls' team.
The competition, held in Palmerston North during Tournament Week, saw seven students represent the school across team and individual events.
Both Macleans College teams competed in the Open grade. The girls finished second in their pool to progress to the A grade competition, while the boys placed third and moved into the B grade.
The boys produced an outstanding performance on the second day, winning every match to claim gold in the B grade.
The girls faced a challenging A grade competition, finishing sixth overall after losing two of their three games. They then progressed to the girls' tournament final, where a series of close and exciting matches saw them emerge victorious. The win secured Macleans College’s sixth national girls' title in the past 15 years.
The third and final day featured the individual competition. Jessica Huang (Hillary House) won bronze in the Under 19 event, while Josephine Chong (Upham) claimed silver.
Overall it was an excellent three days of competition, marked by strong performances and a positive team atmosphere. All seven students represented Macleans College with pride.
