Students are expected to wear the Macleans College uniform with pride.
The uniform reflects the school’s values and supports a focused and respectful learning environment
Students are to attend all classes promptly at all times.
If a student cannot attend because of ill health, the school must be advised before classes begin. A doctor’s certificate is required for any absence of three or more days.
Absence for any other reason must be approved in advance by the International Student Manager.
Bell times structure the school day and indicate the start and end of each class, as well as morning interval and lunch breaks.

Students are expected to behave in a way that contributes to a respectful, safe and inclusive school environment. Students show courtesy and consideration for others.
Homework is an important part of learning at Macleans College. This must be completed every day, or as required by the teacher. The student must complete all set tasks when asked. If you are unsure about an assignment, speak to your teacher or ask your homestay family for support.
Public transportation is run by Auckland Transport (AT). Students can travel on buses, trains and ferries using an AT HOP card or contactless payment method.
All international students receive an AT HOP card in a welcome pack provided by Macleans College when they arrive. The card can be used to pay for public transport throughout Auckland.
AT HOP cards are available for purchase online or in person at HOP retailers such as Paper Plus.

School buses
School buses are operated by Gobus, telephone no 09 257 7690. Students are responsible for paying their own bus fares.
Macleans College does not permit international students to own or drive a car while enrolled at the school.
Students who wish to ride a bicycle must follow New Zealand road rules. Cyclists are required to:
Safe cycling also requires visibility, predictable riding and maintaining a safe following distance.
International students are not permitted to work in New Zealand unless this is specifically approved as part of their visa conditions. Students should always check their visa requirements before accepting employment.
Macleans College is committed to the wellbeing of every international student. Students who are feeling unwell, homesick, anxious or experiencing any difficulties are encouraged to reach out for support.
