Macleans College, a distinguished co-educational secondary school, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Guidance Counsellor to join our supportive pastoral care team. We are committed to providing a comprehensive educational experience that fosters the academic, personal, and social development of our growing roll of over 3,000 students.
The Guidance Counsellor will play a pivotal role in supporting domestic and international students from many different nationalities and cultures as they navigate academic, personal, and mental health challenges. The successful candidate will provide individual and group counselling services and work collaboratively with the pastoral team, which includes House Leaders and Senior Leadership, to ensure a positive and supportive environment for student wellbeing. Additionally, the counsellor will be responsible for responding to crises, liaising with external agencies, and advocating for the mental health and emotional well-being of students.
The salary and conditions for this position are based on the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement. The base salary for registered and trained teachers will vary depending on their qualifications and experience. For non-teacher trained counsellors our conditions of appointment will be based on the Limited Authority to Teach (LAT) scale and subject to a valid LAT.

Social Studies teacher

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a full-time Social Studies position at Macleans College. The role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator looking to make a meaningful contribution to our Social Sciences Faculty.
We are looking for a certified teacher who has a strong grounding in Social Studies and experience teaching Year 9 – 13. Experience in teaching Level 3 Social Studies is preferred. At Macleans College, all teachers contribute to our extensive extra-curricular programme, supported by a caring and dedicated team. Please state senior subject(s) in your application.
The position will commence Term 3, 2026.
