Caretaker
Full-time, permanent
Macleans College, a distinguished co-educational secondary school is seeking a full-time experienced and dedicated Caretaker to join our team. This role will be responsible for everyday maintenance of the school campus to ensure that all caretaking services are carried out to the highest standard.
Position Overview
- Be involved in security, property, maintenance, cleaning, heating, vehicle, Health and Safety and emergency procedures
- Oversee “opening” and “lock-up” of all the school buildings
- Liaise with the Property Manager on all property matters
- Respond in a timely manner to requests for property maintenance and repair
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience in a similar caretaking, facilities, or maintenance role
- Good working knowledge of building maintenance, basic repairs, and facilities management
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage time effectively
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with staff, contractors, and suppliers
- Basic computer literacy for maintenance scheduling and record-keeping
- A valid driver’s license
- Flexibility to respond to emergencies or after-hours needs
- Trustworthy, reliable, and able to pass a police vetting process
Additionally, hands-on experience is essential, with the ability to assess situations and communicate effectively with the Property Manager to problem solve and find suitable solutions. The role reports directly to the school Property Manager.

Accounts Assistant
Part-time, term time only
Macleans College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated team player to join our Accounts team.
In this role, you will help provide a welcoming and efficient service to students visiting the Accounts Office, while also supporting our teaching staff and wider college community with a range of financial and administrative tasks.
Key responsibilities:
- Accounts receivables – Receipting payments (APS, DPS, Eftpos, etc.)
- Accounts payables – entering and coding invoices
- Providing counter services and responding to enquiries
- Cash handling and reconciliation
- Other administrative tasks (e.g. Student IDs, Adobe Subscription, etc.)
Position details:
- 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.00am to 3.30pm, term time only
- Commencing Monday 20 July, Term 3 (or by arrangement).

Day Relievers
Macleans College is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Day Relief Teachers to support our students across a range of subjects.
We have a particular need for relief support in Commerce, Physical Education, and Technology, although applications from teachers across all speciality areas are welcome.
As a Relief Teacher, you will play an important role in maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment when our regular teachers are unavailable. You will help ensure continuity for students, minimise disruption to learning, and encourage students to make the most of their classroom time.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by classroom teachers.
- Support students to remain focused and engaged in their learning.
- Use digital platforms such as Google Classroom and Kamar to access information and record attendance.
- Communicate effectively with students and staff.
