Media Studies

Macleans College is on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Media Studies teacher to enhance our expanding media community.
This opportunity is for a professional who is keen to be involved in the growing of young people from Year 9 to Year 13 and (ideally) contribute to our scholarship programme.

The role:

  • Develop and support: Play a pivotal role in the advancement of our Media Studies curriculum, ensuring a knowledge-rich learning experience that spans various media contexts;
  • Industry expertise: Bring your valuable media industry experience or diverse teaching background to inspire and educate our students;
  • Production mastery: Utilise your production skills to guide students in film production and other media projects;
  • Event Production: Help organise the 'Macademy Awards', our annual celebration of student filmmaking talent; and
  • Innovative Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the Head of Department and Head of Faculty to build initiatives that fuel the passion for media, including filmmaking competitions.

The role:

  • Responsible for teaching and educating all levels of students in a variety of curriculum topics
  • Develop engaging lesson plans
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences
  • Contribute towards team culture in the Science department and House whanau
