A structured system of monitoring and communication ensures that students remain safe and comfortable at all times.
Ongoing monitoring and support
Student wellbeing is actively monitored through regular contact with both students and host families.
Macleans College’s International Department maintains consistent oversight of all homestay placements, with processes in place to identify and address any concerns early.
- Regular check-ins are conducted with students throughout the school year
- Ongoing communication is maintained with all host families
- Any concerns raised are responded to promptly
- Dedicated support is provided by International Department staff
Homestay compliance and visits
To maintain high standards across all placements, homestay arrangements are reviewed on a regular and structured basis.
- Compliance visits to all homestay properties are conducted every six months
- Designated caregiver arrangements are formally reviewed on an annual basis
- All homes are assessed to ensure they meet Macleans College’s required standards
These processes ensure consistency, safety and quality across all international student homestay placements.
Health and emergency support
Clear procedures are in place to support international students in the event of illness or an emergency.
- Host families assist students in accessing appropriate medical care
- International Department staff provide guidance and support throughout any health-related situation
- Medical costs are managed in accordance with each student’s insurance policy
- Parents and agents are kept informed throughout
