Tournament Week 2026: Equestrian

Macleans College equestrian riders took on five disciplines at the North Island Secondary Schools Equestrian Cup in Taupō during Tournament Week.

Competing alongside schools from across the North Island, the riders demonstrated skill and versatility across dressage, show jumping, show hunter, arena eventing and competitive trail riding.

Macleans College joined forces with Howick College and Sancta Maria College to form a local composite team for the competition.

India Crowhurst (Te Kanawa House) rode GF Top Secret and achieved an impressive second place in the 70cm show hunter class. She also placed fourth in her Level 3B dressage test with a score of 65%, followed by sixth place in the Level 3C test with 64%. India also competed in the 65cm arena eventing class.

Faith Trow (Hillary) rode Glenwood Traveller, placing fifth in both her Level 1D and Level 1C dressage tests, with scores of 53.6% and 55.4% respectively. She also competed in the 80-90cm two-phase show jumping class and 65cm horse arena eventing.

Florence Haxton (Hillary) rode Lyrical across several disciplines. She scored 62.9% in her Level 1C dressage test and 59.5% in her Level 1B test. She also competed in competitive trail riding, 80cm horse arena eventing, and the 80-90cm two-phase and accumulator show jumping classes.

The North Island Secondary Schools Equestrian Cup provided the riders with valuable experience competing at a high level and across multiple disciplines. Their participation was a proud opportunity to represent Macleans College on the North Island stage.
