Teamwork and fun at Macleans College ESOL Camp

Posted on March 13, 2025

On Thursday 6 March, 80 senior ESOL immersion students from Macleans College gathered at the Bentley Pavilion for an exciting two-day camp designed to foster teamwork, communication and perseverance.

The camp featured a series of engaging outdoor activities that challenged students to collaborate in pairs, small groups and large teams. Under the guidance of lead instructor Mr Worsfold and his assistant, Mya Broadmore, students worked together to achieve various goals set for each activity.

From keeping a giant rubber ball in the air to participating in a spirited team tag competition and even enjoying a classic game of tug-of-war, every activity required effective communication and teamwork.

Mr Worsfold emphasised that success wasn’t about competing individually or always winning. Instead, he encouraged the students to push themselves, stay persistent and celebrate their progress.

On the final day, the students were introduced to some thrilling water-based activities. Armed with wet sponges and plenty of energy, they dodged, splashed and laughed as they chased their friends in a friendly, competitive spirit.

Thank you to Mr Worsfold, Mya Broadmore and all the ESOL staff who worked to make this event a success. The camp provided invaluable opportunities for the students to bond, build confidence and strengthen their teamwork skills in a fun, supportive environment.
