Te Kanawa House raises more than $10,000 for Child Cancer Foundation
Posted on September 02, 2026
More than $10,000 has been raised for the Child Cancer Foundation following a 5km charity run by Te Kanawa House students at Macleans College.
The event brought students together in a display of determination, teamwork and commitment to supporting an important cause.
Throughout the year, students and staff from each whānau house at Macleans College support and fundraise for a chosen charity. Te Kanawa House’s chosen charity is the Child Cancer Foundation, which supports Kiwi children diagnosed with cancer and their whānau.
The Foundation provides one-to-one support to children and families throughout their cancer journey. It also offers family support services, as well as medical and research support.
Students showed great enthusiasm as they completed the course around Farm Cove. Their participation, along with the generosity of those who supported the event, will help the Foundation continue its work supporting children and families affected by cancer.
The event was a positive example of the Te Kanawa House community coming together with generosity and purpose. Congratulations to all the students who took part and thank you to everyone who contributed through donations and encouragement.
