The Macleans College equestrian team travelled to St Peter’s School in Cambridge on Friday 28 March to compete in the North Island Secondary Schools Dressage Carnival.

Macleans College riders Kate McKeen (Hillary House), Lajeen Sabri (Hillary) and Harper Gilhooly (Kupe) joined forces with Samantha Cooksley from Hauraki Plains College to form a team. This event marked a promising and enjoyable start to the 2025 school equestrian calendar.

Kate rode Rockafella Just n the Money (Clover) in Level 2A and 2B, achieving scores of 64.4% and 65%, respectively, to secure second place in Class 2B. As a newly formed partnership, this was an impressive result for Kate and Clover in their first competition together.

Lajeen riding Waldo, and Harper riding Amy, delivered commendable performances in their debut dressage competitions at Level 0A and 0B. Both riders scored 60.7% in 0A, while Lajeen earned 60% and Harper 53.3% in 0B.
