Macleans College students qualify for International History Bee Asian Championships

Macleans College students delivered outstanding results at the International History Bee and Bowl Regional Competition, held at Kristin School.

The competition is a fast-paced, buzzer-style quiz that tests students’ knowledge of history.  Macleans College students performed strongly across all divisions.

Individual results

  • Makar Puzanov (Batten House) placed first in the Junior History Bee
  • Anderson Ma (Batten) placed first in the Junior Varsity History Bee
  • Michael Zhao (Hillary) placed third place in the Senior History Bee

Team results
The Senior History Bowl team of Michael Zhao, Mitya Pechorin (Mansfield), Daniel Wang (Upham), Lauren Timmins (Kupe), Anderson Ma and Thomas Yang (Rutherford) achieved an impressive second place.

These results have secured qualification for the 2026 International Academic Competitions (IAC) Asian Championships in Thailand.  This achievement reflects the students’ commitment and academic excellence.
