Year 11 Macleans College students build entrepreneurial skills

Students in Macleans College’s Year 11 Mana class have successfully completed the Building Entrepreneurial Capital (BEC) programme, gaining practical business skills and the opportunity to apply for funding to launch their own business ventures.
Delivered over 18 weeks during Terms 1 and 2, the programme combined workshops, discussions, collaborative activities and real-world case studies. Students built confidence as they shared ideas, worked together and explored how entrepreneurial thinking can be applied in everyday situations.
Throughout the programme, students developed skills in innovation, planning, communication, resilience and problem-solving. They learned how to identify opportunities, develop business ideas and clearly present their thinking.
As a result of completing the programme, students are now eligible to apply for funding through The King's Trust Aotearoa New Zealand to help turn their business ideas into reality.
