Selection for International Bridge Championships

Two Macleans College students, Vincent He Year 13 (Hillary) and Zachary Yan Year 12 (Upham) have qualified for the World Youth (Under 25) Bridge Championships to be held in Wujiang, China.

The competition takes place between the 8th – 18th August. Two other players from Otago will comprise the squad which has been successfully built up by Tracey Lewis over the past eighteen months.

Both Vincent and Zachary started playing bridge in 2015 and have been guided throughout by Mr Bowden.

Bridge is a card games involving a partnership who have to work together to beat the opponents. It requires skills in calculating permutations and combinations.
