Macleans College’s senior boys achieved impressive results at the Auckland Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships. Competing against some of Auckland's strongest runners, they finished second in the three-person team competition and third in the six-person team competition.

Held recently at Lloyd Elsmore Park, the championships brought together the region's top middle-distance runners. Fine weather and firm track conditions made for a fast course.

The senior boys team consisted of Max Wilkins (Mansfield House), Max Maddock (Upham), Christian Geldenhuys (Batten), James Whiteley (Kupe), Flynn Healy (Mansfield) and Luke Jardine (Snell).

Max Wilkins, Max Maddock and Christian led the way with sixth, eighth and 15th-place finishes respectively - securing second place in the three-person team competition.

Strong performances from James, Flynn and Luke helped the team claim third place in the six-person team competition, capping off an excellent day of racing for Macleans College.
