Year 11 Mana students at Macleans College put their leadership skills into practice by planning and delivering a physical education session for Year 3 and Year 5 students at Shelly Park School.

Working in small teams, they designed a series of engaging activities for the 50 minute session.

To prepare, the students worked with Shelly Park teachers to plan inclusive activities, organise equipment and manage event logistics. They also completed safety risk assessments to help ensure the session ran smoothly.

During the session, the students took on the roles of coaches and leaders, encouraging younger learners to participate and stay active. The project concluded with feedback from the school community and student self-reflections, helping the Year 11 students recognise their development in leadership and event management.

The project demonstrated the Mana students’ initiative, teamwork and commitment to supporting their local school community.
