Recently, a group of Year 12 Media Studies students had the opportunity to be involved in a short training video produced by the New Zealand Police media team.

The film, ‘Make every contact with young people count’, was made for the purpose of training officers in ways to build positive relationships between police and youth.

Macleans College students featured in the short film and toured the police headquarters in Otahuhu where they had the opportunity to meet industry professionals such as photographers, filmmakers, and journalists who work on site.

The trip was organised by Senior Constable Garry Boles of the Auckland media team, the HOD of Media Studies Mrs Bowie, and Media Studies teacher, Mr Walthaus.
