Macleans College student to represent New Zealand at International Economics Olympiad

Year 13 Macleans College student Tony Su (Kupe House) has been chosen to represent New Zealand at the Fourth Annual International Economics Olympiad, which will be held virtually this year due to COVID-19.

A total number of 14 schools entered the preliminary selection process. Seventy-two students initially entered and 20 were chosen for the selection camp held on 7 April at King’s College, of which three Macleans College students Tony Su, James Hui (Rutherford) and Ivan Zhang (Mansfield) were selected.

Tony Su was selected for the New Zealand national team, comprising of four other students. James Hui is a reserve for the team. The competition runs from 26 July to 1 August.
