Macleans College farewells students and staff from Thailand

Over the past three weeks, Macleans College hosted a group of 20 students and two teachers from Don Bosco Vitthaya School in Thailand.

Each student was allocated a Macleans College student ambassador for the duration of their study tour. The Don Bossco Vitthaya students shadowed their ambassadors – attending classes and participating in school activities as much as possible.

As well as experiencing school life in New Zealand, the Thai students were also able to explore Auckland, with the help of an AT HOP card. Day trips to the Auckland Memorial War Museum, the Howick Historic Village and the Chelsea Sugar Factory were a highlight.

Last week at a farewell event, the Don Bossco Vitthaya students each received a certificate and a gift prepared by the International Students department. The Macleans College ambassadors were also recognised and thanked for making the visiting students feel welcomed. A farewell meal of pizza was then shared amongst everyone.
