Learning Support students dive into marine education

A group of Macleans College Learning Support students explored the wonders of marine life during a recent educational visit to the Auckland War Memorial Museum.
The trip gave students a valuable opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences.
The visit focused on Seaweek and the Sharks exhibition. Students attended an informative educational talk and explored the displays, learning about shark evolution over millions of years and the vital role these animals play in maintaining healthy ocean ecosystems.
During the exhibition, students observed life-sized shark models and examined real fossils and teeth. Interactive displays encouraged active participation and helped strengthen their understanding of these often misunderstood creatures.
The excursion proved both educational and inspiring. It helped students develop a deeper appreciation for marine life and highlighted the importance of protecting the world’s oceans.
