Year 12 Macleans College student Kaitlyn Rawlings (Te Kanawa House) has helped New Zealand secure a silver medal at the Junior World Series in South Africa, representing her country in the U18 Girls Indoor Cricket team.

The tournament featured seven nations: New Zealand, England, Australia, India, Singapore, Sri Lanka and South Africa. New Zealand performed strongly during pool play, finishing at the top of the table with a comfortable lead and recording two wins over their biggest rival, Australia.

Their strong performance earned the team direct entry to the final, where they faced Australia after the semi-finals. Despite their earlier victories, New Zealand were unable to secure the championship, finishing the tournament with a silver medal.

Kaitlyn has played indoor cricket for two years and is a member of the Macleans College 1st XI Girls Cricket team.

Her selection to represent New Zealand on the international stage is a significant achievement - recognising her commitment to cricket and providing valuable experience competing against some of the world's best young players.
