Macleans College welcomes international students for Term 2
Posted on April 24, 2026
Macleans College began Term 2 by welcoming 20 new international students to the school community.
As a leading New Zealand high school for international students, Macleans College continues to attract learners from around the world. The new students represent a diverse range of countries - including France, Germany, Italy, China, Japan and Thailand.
The first day focused on helping students settle in. It began with a guided tour of the campus, giving students a clear overview of the school facilities. Upham House Leader Mr van Heerden and Kupe House Leader Ms Chamberlain then led an orientation session covering homestay arrangements and school expectations.
A group of international prefects organised a series of interactive activities. These encouraged conversation and helped students form early connections in a relaxed setting. Students responded positively, growing in confidence as the day progressed.
Macleans College looks forward to welcoming six additional students from Italy later in the term. The school remains committed to providing a supportive and enriching environment for international students.
