International students dive into learning at Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium
Posted on May 14, 2025
During a recent visit to Sea Life Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium, a group of Vietnamese students and their teacher experienced one of New Zealand’s most unique marine attractions.
The students had the opportunity to explore a wide range of marine animals. They particularly enjoyed the Antarctic Ice Adventure, which features the Southern Hemisphere’s largest display of King and Gentoo penguins. Turtle Bay was another highlight, showcasing seven species of marine turtles. Sea Life Kelly Tarlton’s is also home to New Zealand’s only turtle hospital.
The virtual reality experience added to the excitement of the day. Students selected from five immersive, ocean-themed adventures. Some encountered a giant octopus, while others swam alongside tiger sharks.
The group will study at Macleans College throughout Term 2. Each year, Macleans College welcomes students from sister school Nguyen Sieu School.
