International graduates celebrate their Macleans College journey

Forty-five Year 13 international students gathered at Bucklands Beach Yacht Club to celebrate their time at Macleans College.

The graduation lunch brought together students, teachers and International Department staff to recognise the achievements of students who had spent several years studying at the school.

The graduates represented eight countries: China, Japan, Vietnam, Korea, India, Thailand, Tonga and Singapore. Their diverse backgrounds reflect the international community that is an important part of life at Macleans College.

The event was organised and hosted by Principal Mr Hargreaves, Director of International Students and Associate Principal Ms Tuialii, and International Department Manager Mrs Rawlings.

Former international student Minh Chu (Mansfield House 2024 - 2025) spoke about how his experience at Macleans College prepared him for university study. Current student Sam Chen (Te Kanawa) also shared his experiences and reflected on his time at school.

The lunch provided an opportunity for the graduates to reconnect with their teachers and the International Department, share memories and celebrate their achievements together.

Macleans College is proud to welcome international students from across Asia, Europe, South America, North America and beyond. International students become part of a vibrant, diverse community where they are supported to grow academically, build lasting connections and prepare for their future pathways.
