Four Macleans College graduates awarded prestigious UNSW Scientia Scholarships

Four recent graduates from Macleans College have been awarded the prestigious Scientia Scholarship at the University of New South Wales (UNSW).

The scholarship is valued at AUD $10,000 per year for the duration of each student’s degree.  It recognises students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement.

Recipients join the Scientia Scholars Program, which provides a range of opportunities and support.  Scholars are supported by dedicated academic mentors and are invited to exclusive university events.  They may also represent their faculty as student ambassadors and apply for research assistant roles within their faculty.

Among the recipients is Chenyou Song (Mansfield House 2021 - 2025), who will study a conjoint degree in Advanced Mathematics (Honours) and Computer Science at UNSW.  While at Macleans College, he received NZQA Scholarships in Accounting, Calculus and Statistics.

Hayden Tong-Ho (Mansfield House 2021 - 2025) will study Advanced Computer Science at UNSW.  During his time at Macleans College, he earned two ICAS medals and received NZQA Scholarships in Calculus, Statistics, Physics and Digital Technologies.

Cyril Chen (Mansfield House 2021 - 2025) will also pursue Advanced Computer Science at UNSW.  He looks forward to the academic mentorship and research opportunities offered through the Scientia Scholars Program.  At Macleans College, he received NZQA Scholarships in Calculus, Chemistry, Digital Technologies, Physics and Statistics.

Jervis Lai (Mansfield House 2021 - 2025) will study Aerospace Engineering at UNSW as a Scientia Scholar.  During his time at Macleans College, he received NZQA Scholarships in Accounting, Calculus, English and Physics, as well as an Outstanding Scholarship in Statistics.
