Former student receives dual honours at National Pony Club Awards

She was awarded both the Achievers Award and Young Coach of the Year in recognition of her accomplishments as a rider, coach and mentor.

These awards recognise Kate's significant contribution to the equestrian community. She achieved her Full A Certificate at just 17 years of age and now coaches riders from Lead Rein through to C+ level across several pony clubs. Her expertise includes dressage, show jumping, cross-country and mounted games. She also helps members prepare for competitions, complete Pony Club certificates and build confidence in the sport.

The Young Coach of the Year award recognises Kate's leadership, generosity and commitment to developing young riders. Her calm and encouraging approach has earned the respect of riders, parents and fellow coaches. She is widely regarded as a positive role model who inspires the next generation of equestrians.

Kate's success continues a proud tradition of equestrian excellence at Macleans College.  The 2025 Young Coach of the Year recipient was also a Macleans College alumna, Hayley Newington (Hillary House 2019 - 2023).
