Year 13 Financial Literacy students from Macleans College recently embarked on an exciting educational adventure to the Westpac Bank Head Office in Auckland CBD.

Travelling by train, the students were eager to dive into the world of finance and fraud prevention.

Upon arrival, the students participated in interactive activities and attended informative presentations on online fraud. They learnt about phishing scams and identity theft, along with strategies to protect their personal information. The session offered practical advice on online safety, emphasising the need for vigilance and strong password practices.

The visit also provided insight into the role of financial investigators at Westpac. Students explored how fraud is detected and prevented, with real-life case studies illustrating the complexities of financial crime investigations.

The experience proved both educational and engaging. It equipped the students with valuable knowledge and skills that will support their financial awareness in the future.
