Macleans College fencers crowned national champions

Macleans College students achieved outstanding results in fencing over the recent school holidays.
At the National Junior Championships in Dunedin, Larry Lin (Batten House) was crowned the National Junior (U20) champion in Men’s Foil - a remarkable achievement at the highest level of junior competition.
At the National U15 and Cadet Championships in Wellington, Harry Zhou (Upham) won the National U15 Sabre title, confirming his status as one of the country’s top young fencers. In the U17 Sabre event, Maxwell Chen (Upham) secured second place, while Harry finished third, both displaying excellent skill and determination. In U17 Foil, Larry placed sixth and Maxwell tenth, demonstrating strong performances across multiple disciplines.
These results reflect the athletes’ dedication, skill and commitment to excellence, culminating in national recognition and prestigious titles.
