Macleans College alumna awarded scholarship to study Law at the University of Cambridge

Macleans College alumna Kelly Ma (Upham House 2021-2025) has been awarded a prestigious scholarship to study Law at the University of Cambridge, one of the world’s leading universities.
The award recognises her outstanding academic achievements and commitment to service and leadership.
The scholarship, valued at approximately GBP £15,000 per year for the three-year duration of her degree, has been awarded by her residential college, King’s College. It will help support Kelly’s studies and university experience.
Kelly achieved exceptional academic results at Macleans College, completing her CIE A Levels with five A* grades. Her achievements included Top in New Zealand for AS Level History and Top in the World for A Level Accounting.
She also received a NZQA Scholarship Award, including an Outstanding Scholarship in English and Scholarships in History, Classical Studies, Statistics, Accounting, and Health and Physical Education.
Alongside her academic achievements, Kelly made a strong contribution to the Macleans College community through service and leadership. She was a peer support leader, school prefect and member of the Upham House executive. She also held leadership roles in UNICEF, World Vision and Z Club.
Beyond school, Kelly served on the Howick Youth Council and Girl Empowerment Conference executive, supporting initiatives that empower and represent young people.
Kelly hopes to pursue a career in law, combining her academic interests with her commitment to service and advocacy.
