40 years of Cross Country at Macleans College

As Macleans College celebrates 40 years, we take a look back at our school history.

The annual Cross Country continues to be an important event on the school calendar, one that all Macleans College students participate in.  It provides a valuable experience for students in a positive social and physical environment.

The inaugural Macleans College Cross Country was held on the afternoon of Friday 15 August 1980.  The course was in first class condition, the drop into the creek causing the only concern.  However, the course became muddy and running shoes had to be retrieved from knee-deep mud after the event!  Kupe House placed first followed by Te Kanawa, Rutherford and Hillary.
