2025 International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS)

Dear Parents and Caregivers

Macleans College will again be participating in the ICAS Assessments this year.

ICAS is an online academic competition that is designed to assess students’ higher order thinking and problem-solving skills and is offered to students in Years 9 to Year 12 in English, Mathematics and Science.

Each assessment celebrates students’ accomplishments by providing opportunities for recognition and development. Every student who participates will receive a printed certificate and an online results report. Top performers will be eligible for medals.

Please note, participation in ICAS assessments is not compulsory.

These assessments will be completed at school, commencing at 7.30 am on the dates listed below. Students should have a suitable BYOD device, e.g. Laptop, iPad or Android tablet, to complete the assessment.

If you wish your child to participate in ICAS this year, please refer to the ICAS website for the following:

• Parent Portal to purchase tests

The cost is $22.50 (incl GST) for each subject.

Enter your child’s details, select the tests you would like to purchase, then proceed to payment. 

After payment is made via the Parent Payment System, you will receive an order confirmation email, please keep this for your records.

Important:

Closing date for purchasing assessments via Parent Portal System for all subjects is Friday 25 July 2025. No late entries can be accepted

English - Wednesday 13 August 2025
*Please note: This date coincides with the week of the KBB Musical festival.

Science - Wednesday 20 August 2025
*Please note: This date coincides with the Cambridge practice examinations for Year 12 students.

Mathematics - Wednesday 27 August 2025
*Please note: This date coincides with the winter tournament week and Year 11 milestone week.
