Macleans College Year 13 Physical Education students put their Term 2 training to the test at the Tough Guy & Gal Challenge, producing an impressive set of results against more than 1,000 competitors.
Their strong performances reflected weeks of dedicated preparation and determination.
Throughout the term, students trained towards a series of physical challenges designed to develop their endurance and resilience. An early assessment took place at Mission Bay, where they completed a 6km waterfront run. With ideal conditions, the fast course allowed students to record strong performances.
The final challenge was the Tough Guy & Gal Challenge in Ngāruawāhia. New Zealand's well-known mud run took competitors across steep farmland and through demanding obstacles, including water slides, tunnels, swamp crossings and mud pits. Wet weather before the event made the course even more challenging underfoot.
Macleans College students rose to the occasion, with Kale Viljoen (Kupe House) placing fifth overall and the boys' team finishing fourth in a highly competitive field. Strong individual performances across both teams reflected the commitment shown throughout their training.
Congratulations to all students for their resilience, determination and a strong work ethic in completing these demanding challenges.
