Music Students Unwrap Mendelssohn

Posted on July 04, 2018

A group of music students were treated to a live analysis session on Wednesday 27 June with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra.

Presented by Kevin Keys and conducted by Hamish McKeich, Mendelssohn’s Italian Symphony was unwrapped, giving the audience an insight into the work’s structure, melodic construction and history.

The session was perfectly timed as study of the work is currently a requirement for students at IGCSE level.
