Impressive turnout at Macleans College for New Zealand Blood Service

Posted on June 06, 2024

On Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 May the New Zealand Blood Service visited Macleans College for the annual mobile blood drive in the school gymnasium.

One hundred and eighty four senior Macleans College students volunteered to donate over the two days, along with several Macleans College staff members.

The Blood Service has expressed their sincere thanks to everyone who generously donated. The New Zealand Blood Service phlebotomists and staff were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of the students and with the marvelous turnout. As a result of this excellent turnout by Macleans College, the New Zealand Blood Service achieved their blood target for the two days. This donation will save the lives of up to 396 patients across New Zealand.

Thank you to the Macleans College prefects for their assistance to the Blood Service staff and their support of the participating students over the two days.

The school looks forward to another successful return visit next year.
