Course Confirmation for Students 2020

All year 12 and 13 students will need to have their course for 2020 confirmed at the following times.

You do not need to come in uniform.

Cambridge International Course Confirmation in Kupe House

  • Year 12 surname A - M between 9.30 am - 10.30 am
  • Year 12 surname N - Z between 10.45 am - 12.00 pm
  • Year 13 surname A - M between 1.00 pm - 2.00 pm
  • Year 13 surname N - Z between 2.00 pm - 3.00 pm

NCEA Course Confirmation in Kupe House

  • Year 12 surname A - M between 10.00 am - 11.00 am
  • Year 12 surname N - Z between 11.00 am - 12.00 pm
  • Year 13 surname A - M between 1.00 pm - 1.30 pm
  • Year 13 surname N - Z between 1.30 pm - 2.00 pm

Please read the advancement criteria carefully.  If you have not met the criteria please have a thought about what you want to change.  We are seeing 250 students per session so time is of the essence! If you are unable to make decisions we will ask you to go home and come back on Wednesday 29 January.

Please fill in the box at the top of the Course confirmation sheet with your grades/credits (course confirmation sheets can be found at the bottom of this page)

Course confirmation must be done in person (we are not able to process any course confirmations by email). If you are unable to attend on these days you will have to wait to see Mrs Thompson – (Year 12) or Mr Mackenzie - (Year 13) or Mr Goodyer (International students) to have your course confirmed. You will not receive a timetable until you have done this. Any previous timetables on the parent portal are null and void. We are unable to change teachers for students. 

What to bring

  1. Your OFFICIAL results for 2019 (and 2018 if you want to pick up subjects).
  2. A paper copy of the course confirmation form (see links below). Please DO NOT fill in the course confirmation form. This is for staff to fill in.
  3. IF YOU DO NOT BRING THESE WE CAN NOT CONFIRM YOUR COURSE.

What to do

Arrive at Kupe House and you will see Mrs Thompson. She will want to see your results and will direct you to the correct lane if you are not sure. (Please refer to course advancement criteria in the links below).

Lane A – Automatic Approval.

  • This lane will be manned by HOF/representatives of the faculty. (Estimated time to wait – 10 minutes).
  • You have met all the criteria for each subject and you do not want to make any changes to your course.

Lane B – Apply to Study.

  • This lane will be manned by SMT/HOF. (Estimated time to wait - 20 minutes).
  • You have narrowly missed the entry criteria for one or more subject(s).
  • You would like to change one or more subject(s).

Lane C – Appointment to Change.

  • This lane will be manned by the Careers dept. (Estimated time to wait – up to an hour).
  • You have missed the criteria.
  • You need or want to completely change your course. (e.g. Cambridge International to NCEA).
  • Please give some thought into what you want to change to before your interview.

Once your course has been confirmed:

  • Then: You must take your signed course confirmation form to K4 (the timetablers). No signed form – no timetable.
  • You will receive your timetable on the 30th January.

Scholarship
There will be a Scholarship table in Kupe House where you can discuss your scholarship subjects.

Students who are doing the peer support training may attend course confirmation on Friday 24 January.
