On Thursday 19 June a group of Year 12 Macleans College Māori students travelled to Te Wānanga o Aotearoa (Mangere campus) to participate in the annual Kei a Tātou te Ihi (KATTI) leadership course.

The KATTI Year 12 programme utilises a range of collaborative (Mahitahi) and theory based (Akoranga) activities to encourage Tauira to develop and reflect upon their own potential, as individuals and as part of Whānau, Hapū, and Iwi.

Through the concept of ‘whanaungatanga’ and ‘leadership’, Tauira identify the qualities and attributes that are relevant to them, to emulate the qualities of an effective leader; and they will use these skills to enhance their own career aspirations.

Students who took part were: Zayde Sarah-Baldwin (Te Kanawa House), Leslie Punou (Hillary), Zara Nichol (Hillary), Brayden Waetford-Hempleman (Hillary) and Riley Kingham (Snell).
