Spotlight on engineering
Students aspiring to pursue a career in engineering attended an informative session hosted by recent engineering graduates from Babcock Australasia. These young professionals discussed their educational journeys, highlighting their graduation from various universities with specialisations in diverse engineering fields. Throughout their tertiary education, they developed a broad set of transferable skills, which they now utilise in their everyday engineering roles.
Spotlight on medicine
Students considering a medical career were treated to an enlightening presentation by former Macleans College student Dr Roy Spires (Upham House 2010 - 2014). Dr Spires shared his experiences of studying for a medical degree and his current specialisation in radiology. He provided invaluable insights into a career in medicine, discussing both the rewarding aspects and some of the challenges that come with the profession.
Eastern Schools Careers Expo
The combined Eastern Schools Career Expo provided students with a glimpse into the diverse options available beyond school. With nearly 50 exhibitors, students could explore a wide array of career pathways.
While many students investigated university options, others delved into careers in aviation, broadcasting, trades, technology and the creative industries, to name a few.
The expo served as an excellent opportunity for students to broaden their awareness and gather valuable information about the possibilities that await them as they prepare to leave school.
