Macleans a SATS Centre
Macleans College is an official Scholarship Assessment Testing Centre.
The college has already hosted students sitting SATs in comprehension, mathematics or subject specific topics in the hope of being accepted into universities in the United States.
It is the most common way for US universities to select overseas students.
SATs is a world-wide programme with Macleans College now an Auckland examination centre.
The SAT Reasoning Test (formerly the Scholastic Aptitude Test or Scholastic Assessment Test) is a standardized test for college admissions in the United States. The test is intended to assess a student's readiness for higher studies.
Taking the SAT is required for many, but not all, universities in the United States.
Macleans also offers the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA). Many former Macleans’ students now study in American universities as well as other universities in Australia and the United Kingdom.
Gayle Coventry is the Teacher in Charge of SATs and testing takes place in Snell House.
