Upham House is the latest addition to Macleans College . The building was completed by the end of 2002 with students and teachers beginning their classes in January 2003.
There are 300 students in the house. There are eight teaching rooms offering Economics, English, Mathematics, Computing, Science and Humanities. There is a feeling of space and newness which is appreciated by all.
Two large photographs of the WW2 hero Charles Upham, who received the Victoria Cross on two separate occasions for bravery, adorn the south wall. At house assemblies the students are watched over by this great warrior and leader.
Mrs Rivalland is the house leader and Mr Peel is her deputy, while a strong group of prefects assist in organizing sports, cultural and tutoring programmes.
There is a feeling of warmth and compassion in the house as everyone assists and co-operates for the benefit of all and many enjoyable moments have been shared.
Upham House invites you to view the articles and photographs and share in some special moments.
The above photograph was taken during a talent quest held before a formal assembly.
