Because of the absence of Mr Bentley next term travelling to the UK, USA and Europe on his Woolf Fisher Fellowship, the Acting Principal will be Mr Peek.
NZPPTA Strike Action
We have been advised by the NZPPTA that the current rolling strike action taking place will continue until further notice, and the school and students will be affected from the start of Week 1, Term 2.
Monday 15 April Year 10 (4th form)
Tuesday 16 April Year 11 (5th form)
Wednesday 17 April Year 12 (6th form)
Thursday 18 April Year 13 (7th form)
Friday 19 April Year 9 (3rd form)
As has already occurred, normal classes cannot be run for those year levels affected on the days stated above, and we ask parents not to send their children to school.

Changeover to Winter Uniform
From Monday 15 April there will be a period of two weeks during which students may wear either full summer or full winter uniform. All students are to move into full winter uniform from Monday 29 April. Winter uniform shoes are available from the stockists of the approved school shoes, Milan’s Shoes, in both Highland Park and Picton Street, Howick
Overalls
Any surplus overalls that could be donated for student use in workshops, would be greatly appreciated. Contact Mrs McGowan on extension 811.
Term 2 Community Education Programme
A variety of courses is offered for Term 2, with booklets being available from local libraries and the Howick Information Centre. You may also ring Macleans College on 535 2620 and leave a message for Yvonne O’Brien on voicemail extension 885. If you would like a booklet sent to you please leave your name and address.

Counties Manukau Secondary Schools Athletic Championships
Macleans College dominated this meeting, gaining 23 first placings, 21 seconds and 16 thirds.
North Island SS Athletics
Congratulations to Rebecca Kinnear who finished third in the Junior Girls 1500m held in Auckland last weekend.
Counties Manukau SS Tennis Championships
David Lyons won the Senior Boys’ finals, Michal Pozaroszcyzyk won the Intermediate Boys’, Sally Brown won the Intermediate Girls’, playing Hannah Newman, while the Junior Girls’ doubles were won by Allyson Clark and Vanessa Jones, playing against Suzy Hayden and Elizabeth Newman.
Multi Sport - Auckland SS Triathlon
David Bunty was third in the Senior Boys, while Bruce Hunter was 4th in the Intermediate Boys.
1st XI Boys’ Cricket
The team has been performing particularly well in the ASS Premier Grade, having had two first innings wins over Takapuna Grammar and Westlake Boys.
