| School Bus Laws - Petition |
| Request from the Eastgate family of Matamata. |
| On 15 May 2009 our cherished son, brother and friend Jordan Robert Eastgate was tragically taken from us. Jordan was hit and killed instantly by a car after getting off his school bus outside our home, in rural Matamata. |
| As a family, and on Jordans behalf, we have launched a nationwide petition calling for changes to the existing "20kmh" law which in reality is antiquated. It is our sincere belief that further measures need to be taken to protect the most important people in our lives ... our children. |
| Anyone of any age can sign the petition, signatories do not have to include their address but they can only sign once. |
| Anyone that is incapacitated may sign the petition , however , should someone sign on behalf of someone who is incapacitated, they must indicate this beside the signature. |
| Signatures must be original, Parliament will not accept photocopied, scanned or faxed or pasted signatures, all signature sheets therefore, need to be returned to us, the address for service is listed below. We respectfully request all signed petition sheets be returned to us by October 31, to allow for correlation and presentation to our Member of Parliament. |
