Keegan Payne from Batten has been selected by Auckland Hockey into their Under 18 Auckland Training Academy. Keegan was selected after three trials. His selection demonstrates Keegan’s skill in this sport, particularly being selected for this squad as a 14 year old. |

| World Cup Football Trophy |

| Swimming |

At the New Zealand Junior Nationals on the weekend of 21-22 February Valerie Kau, a student of Kupe house, received 9 New Zealand individual medals in the 12 year girls. One gold (200m Backstroke), 4 silvers (100m Butterfly, 50m Backstroke, 400m Freestyle, 200m Butterfly and 4 bronze (400m Individual Medley, 100m Freestyle, 200m Freestyle and 200m Individual Medley. These are outstanding results |

Counties Manukau Zone Competition |

The Macleans Swimming Team attended the Counties Manukau Zone Competition on Monday 23rd February at the Manurewa Aquatic Centre. The team acquitted themselves extremely well.

| Macleans entered a total of 18 relay events and won 15 of them. Congratulations to all swimmers and we await the completion of the other zones to see who will be selected for the Auckland Champ of Champs meet later this term. |

| Team Tag Triathlon |
 |
Macleans Triathlon team kicked off the year in the Tag Team event held at St Kentigern on Friday 27th February. Thanks to all athletes who participated. The Senior mixed team turned in a commendable top 5 performance the team was made up of Michaela Guy, Aidan Cudmor and Hamish Uden. Special mention to Hamish Uden for competing at both Intermediate level and Senior mixed and to Harris Ang for not only completing a difficult swim leg, but also turning in a strong result in the 5km run. |

On Friday 13th February Macleans defeated Onehunga 11-4. Goals scored by Chad Beets 8, Hamish Uden 2 and Rory Accorsi 1. Good first game with the team defending and working well together. |

The Senior Team played Auckland Grammar on Friday 20th February losing 3-6. Goal scorers Chad Beets 2 and Jeremy Bowler 1. |

The Juniors played their first game of the season on Sunday 22nd February against Glendowie College. We had a good turn out of players and for some this was their first game ever. The team played well but the experience of the Glendowie team was too much for Macleans resulting in a 3-9 win to Glendowie. Rory Accorssi had a great game scoring all three goals. One as goalie from the other end of the pool. |

The Senior Team played King's at King's on Friday 27th February. The final score was 4-3 to Macleans. Goals scored by Chad Beets 3 and Jeremy Bowler 1. |

The first week of Eastern Zone Senior Volleyball got off to a great start.
The boy’s team defeated Elim College 2–1, with an excellent come back after losing the first set. Anton Van der Sprey, Jordan Irwin and Ryan White played very well.
The girls team beat St Kentigern 2-0 thanks to a very good game from Maddie Parker. |

On 26th February Macleans 1 boys lost a very close game to Edgewater 25-23 26-24 with very strong games from Jordan Irwin and Ryan White The Macleans 2 team beat Botany College 2-1. |

| Girls Cricket |

Week 3
Macleans won by 20 runs against McAuley High. Macleans batted first – scored 97 for 5 wickets (Jessica Blackmore 47 runs). McAuley in reply scored 77 for 4 (Alex Eastwood 2 wickets for 7 runs and Stephanie Khor 2 for 18).
Week 4
Macleans played King's College winning by 9 wickets. King's batted first and scored 132 for 6 in their 20 over’s (Nikita Patel taking 2 wickets for 18 in her 4 over’s). Macleans made 136 for 1 with 5.2 over’s left of their 20 over’s (Alex Eastwood scoring 76 not out and Jessica Blackmore 45).
Week 5
Sancta Maria batted first and scored 79 for 5 in their 20 overs. Shona Tiong getting 2 wickets for 4. Macleans in reply scored 80 for 1. Jessica Blackmore scoring 34. Macleans won by 9 wickets. Well done! |

Congratulations to Takuma Ohashi from Hillary who won his double with Cameron Norrie from Snell 6-3 and then went on to win his singles against Nigel Espie 6-3. It was like watching professional tennis at the ASB tournament and of a very high standard. A very good win for Takuma. |
