Helping Aucklanders in need
A group of Year 9 and 10 Macleans College students visited the Auckland City Mission on 1 December to drop off 15 boxes of non-perishable food items, which have been collected across the school over the last week.
Whilst there, students were given a tour of the facility and learned about the numerous ways ACM helps Aucklanders in need. The CBD branch often sees up to 300 people per day and gives out over 13,000 food parcels per year, as well as running community groups, providing medical treatment, and assistance with accommodation.
December is the busiest month of the year for ACM; the food collected by Macleans College students will be distributed to families in need over the next few weeks.
