Strength in Cross Country

Strong and talented running from Macleans College cross country teams has placed them first, second and third in different relays in the Pakuranga and Howick Realty College Cross Country events held on Sunday.

The top boys’ team of Leo Roper, Cameron Gleed, Josh Chalmers and captain Ray Wang finished 1st in the College Boys’ grade in a time of 22 minutes 18 seconds which was well ahead of their closest opposition.

The top girls’ team of Hayley Faulconbridge, captain, Daria Faulconbridge, Sarah Hughson and Jessica Hughson came 2nd in the College Girls’ grade and the second girls’ team of Casey Webster, Annaliese Wheeler, Alexia Swain and Alina Lin came 3rd.

The two junior teams of year 9 boys and girls ran very well in the open college grade.

This year Macleans entered five teams of 20 runners in this competition.
