Phoebe Richardson, Graeme Martin Head Counsellor, Deborah Yi, Daniel Lipman and Tony Sun.
|
Students at Macleans College have been involved in the programme for about a year with the researchers sending the messages and cartoon
images. This is followed-up by gauging the students’ behavioural response and wellness.
The aim is to help students live in a positive space. The next stage is to identify issues and work alongside the students.
The programme is seen as internationally ground-breaking and is cognitive behavioural theory based.
Here are some student responses. Tony Sun said the research was interesting, Daniel Lipman said it made him think about issues, Phoebe Richardson said it was fun and a good way to think about the issues involved while Deborah Yi said she was looking forward to seeing the research results.
Results are due later this year which will give an insight into youth mental health across Auckland.
