Year 12 Macleans College student, Michael Tzu Min Wang, has been selected for the New Zealand International Mathematics Olympiad training squad that will compete at Kazakhstan in July.

Michael was one of the top twenty-four students to be invited to attend a residential Mathematics Olympiad training camp held in Christchurch last month. <empty>

The final team of six students to represent New Zealand will be announced in April. Last year, Michael was selected for the team that competed in Germany.

In the recent Cambridge International Examinations, Michael achieved 98 in AS Mathematics, 97 in AS Physics, 96 in AS Biology, 95 in AS Chemistry and 95 in IGCSE English.
<empty>
He has gained his ATCL in piano performance and this year he will prepare for the LTCL examination through Trinity College in London.
