First Week at Macleans

Cynthia Sung from Indonesia arrived at Macleans College one week ago and today she was fully involved in a Physical Education theory class with friends Jiajie Ji from China and Samantha Chen from Taiwan.
<empty>
The 15 year old comes from Samarinda in the east of Indonesia where the tropical climate is a contrast to New Zealand’s approaching winter and although she was feeling the cold weather she said she was happy. <empty>

Cynthia said she found the teachers helpful, the school setting attractive and she has already made some new friends. She added she also
enjoyed her homestay parents. She is missing home but finds her new “parents” helpful.

Her subjects include English, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Business Studies and Physical Education.
<empty>
Out of school activities include a love of reading, playing basketball and playing the guitar.
<empty>
Cynthia has two younger brothers and two younger sisters. One of the brothers is studying in Singapore but may come to New Zealand.
