Two former Macleans College students have been awarded scholarships to assist them into their chosen careers.
<empty>

Valerie Tai has been awarded a scholarship at the Auckland Media Design School where she will study for a diploma in visual effects and motion graphics for one year. The scholarship is for high school graduates who display high interest and skill with creative technology.

Eighteen-year-old Valerie plans to undertake a career in visual effects.

The careers evening at Macleans College last year helped Keighley McAndie make up her mind to follow a career in travel and tourism.
<empty>

She said the information she received was very helpful. Her subsequent application for a scholarship was successful with the New Zealand School of Travel and Tourism offering generous financial assistance.

Both Valerie and Keighley are excited about their future career opportunities.
