TABLE TENNIS

Dr Thomas's Table Tennis team have been extremely busy over the holidays, there were a number of major tournaments played during the holidays with some fantastic results from Macleans players.

At the Zone Individual Champs:
Macleans enter 9 players, with Steven Zeng winning the A Grade Competition.  7 of the other players also received prizes.

At the Auckland Schools Teams Final:
1st Team placed first in the A Grade Final, narrowly losing to Grammar.
2nd Team came 5 th overall in the A Grade
3rd Team placed 2 nd in the A2 Grade
4th Team placed 3 rd in the A2 Grade.
5th Team placed 1 st in the B1 Grade.

At the National Team Champs, North Harbour :
3 Macleans Teams competed at this event,
1st Team made it through to the semi-finals in the A Grade.
2nd Team won the B Grade
3rd Team placed 3rd = in the B Grade

At the National Individual Champs:
Our top 2 players, Zheng Sun & Steven Zeng competed at this event.
Zheng Sun competed in the U17 Grade, he made it through the group stages but lost to the top seed in the 5 th round.
Steven Zeng won the U15 National Title, dropping only 3 sets in 7 matches.
Steven also won the U15 Doubles & Mixed Doubles Titles.
Steven also competed in the U17 Grade where he knocked out the top seed but narrowly lost in the final.

Congratulations to all players who competed in these tournaments, there were some exceptional results and we look forward to more success next year.
