House Hockey Competition (shield) |

| The House Hockey Competition was run over term 3. There were many close fought games with a high standard of play throughout the competition. Thank you to all the umpires, coaches and Mrs McConnell for all the effort she put into running the competition. |

The winners of the Junior Girls Competition were Batten House.
The winners of the Junior Boys Competition were Mansfield House.

| The Junior House Basketball Competition was run during the last two weeks of term 3. Both the boys & girls games were fiercely competitive and there was some outstanding play during the competition. |

The winners of the Junior Girls Competition were Upham (for the 2nd yr in a row). The winners of the Junior Boys were Snell. |

TABLE TENNIS |

Dr Thomas's Table Tennis team have been extremely busy over the holidays, there were a number of major tournaments played during the holidays with some fantastic results from Macleans players. |
|
At the Zone Individual Champs:
Macleans enter 9 players, with Steven Zeng winning the A Grade Competition. 7 of the other players also received prizes. |

At the Auckland Schools Teams Final:
1st Team placed first in the A Grade Final, narrowly losing to Grammar.
2nd Team came 5th overall in the A Grade
3rd Team placed 2nd in the A2 Grade
4th Team placed 3rd in the A2 Grade.
5th Team placed 1st in the B1 Grade. |

At the National Team Champs, North Harbour :
3 Macleans Teams competed at this event,
1st Team made it through to the semi-finals in the A Grade.
2nd Team won the B Grade
3rd Team placed 3rd = in the B Grade |

At the National Individual Champs:
Our top 2 players, Zheng Sun & Steven Zeng competed at this event.
Zheng Sun competed in the U17 Grade, he made it through the group stages but lost to the top seed in the 5th round.
Steven Zeng won the U15 National Title, dropping only 3 sets in 7 matches.
Steven also won the U15 Doubles & Mixed Doubles Titles.
Steven also competed in the U17 Grade where he knocked out the top seed but narrowly lost in the final. |

Congratulations to all players who competed in these tournaments, there were some exceptional results and we look forward to more success next year. |

| BADMINTON |
|
The New Zealand Regional Badminton Championships were held recently and there were a number of Macleans College Students who competed for Auckland Representative Teams. |
|
Ricky Liu, Ricky Leung, Steven Yeung are members of the Auckland U14 Team which placed 3rd overall in New Zealand . |
|
Samantha McCamish, Stephanie Cheng, Catherine Chiang are members of the Auckland U16 Team which placed 2 nd overall in NZ. |
|
Assunta Wong is a member of the Auckland U18 Team which placed 1st overall in NZ. |
|
Congratulations to these players for achieving at the highest level. |

| New Zealand Secondary Schools Badminton Championships (medals) |
|
The Macleans College Girls Premier Badminton Team competed at the NZ Secondary Schools Finals at North Harbour. The girls had an outstanding result finishing second in NZ. The team consisted of:
