Triple Success for Macleans College

Three students at Macleans College have been placed first in New Zealand for years 9, 10 and 11 in the Australasian Mathematics Examination.

Jonathon Chow, year 9, Ronald Chan, year 10 and Tom Wang year 11, have been notified they are gold medal winners for their year level in New Zealand .

Tom and Ronald are currently sitting Cambridge International Examinations where they are expected to continue the high standard of academic achievement already established by Macleans students. Jonathon is visiting Hong Kong but he will continue with his studies at the college in 2005.

Earlier in the year Tom was highly placed in a national mathematics competition held in Christchurch .

Before sitting a chemistry examination today, Tom said he had achieved 100 percentile in the Australasian Mathematics along with another student in New Zealand .

Macleans students have achieved first placing in the competitive international examination forum but it is the first time there have been winners at the three levels at the same time in the Australasian exams.
